Stacey's Pix
Welcome
I take pictures of "the unseen" or "unnoticed" The details we miss in every day life; the electrical insulator, an architectural detail or an old advertisement on the side of a building.

I tend to look up; the finishing details on a building, the capstone of an arch or the facade of an older building or a passing airplane.

Transportation, especially trains and airplanes interest me. As with my other pictures my rail pictures tend to be the details. Airplanes fascinate me. How is it possible for something so big to fly? I know the physics, but that does not change the feeling I get watching them take off or land.

Sometimes I take pictures of things because I can. Opportunity or luck often play a role in what I shoot; the time of day, a leaf in the right place or finding an interesting vantage point.

I will be the first to admit that some of my pictures are just snapshots, no more; People in a crowd or just something to remind me of an experience or event.

I do very little post processing; I adjust the levels, crop, bring out the details and sharpen the image.

I have played with some of my pictures with but that is not what I believe photography is about. Photography is not the tools one uses, but the ability to see. Anyone can use Photoshop® to manipulate an image. It takes someone with vision to take a picture.

Mostly I take pictures for myself.

Please let me know what you think.

We at Fotopic like to look at the galleries that we find interesting
and bring them to your attention so that you can appreciate them too.

This is a gallery owned by one of our friends, who appears regularly on our public chatroom irc.fotopic.net, channel #users. Stacey's gallery http://sbk.fotopic.net/ is full of images from Montreal. His unique perspective shows us the sights that we may not otherwise spot - the smaller details of the city. His particular interests are transportation and architecture, and some of the photos of finishing detail on buildings are truly breathtaking in their detail.

These photographs are a mix of the interesting and the beautiful, giving us a unique look at Montreal, and is well worth visiting.
